Prolonged sleep deprivation can have negative effects on the functions of the blood vessels which leads to heart diseases.
During the study , volunteers were divided in to two groups and allowed to sleep 5 hours daily for 8 hours.
The results showed increase in the heart rate during the day , while stress hormone levels also increased in both groups which led to high blood pressure in them.
